The Story of Shane & Mark

 

A Lifelong Love of Nature

 

From the earliest days, Shane and Mark have shared a deep appreciation for the natural world the quiet language of trees, the rhythm of the seasons, and the wisdom that plants seem to whisper when we slow down and listen.

 

Their journey began not in laboratories or classrooms, but in nature itself learning through observation, connection and respect. What started as curiosity became a calling: to live in closer relationship with the land and to honour the ancient bond between people and plants.

 

Roots & Heritage

 

Shane’s heritage is woven with Indigenous ancestry, where nature is not separate from spirit it is spirit. This heritage instilled in him an understanding that every plant, river and breeze carries meaning and memory.

Shane is a Vegetalista who has spent many years walking the path of sacred plant medicine dieting plants, listening, and living in harmony with the spirit of the forest. His teachings are deeply rooted in the ancestral traditions of the Amazon and Andes, where he has sat in ceremonies dedicated to connection and conversation as a trauma-informed facilitator, Shane creates a space of deep safety and presence, honouring each person's emotional process and relationship with the medicine. He is the founder of Cloudscaper: Guardians of the Amazon, a charitable initiative dedicated to reforesting and protecting Amazonian lands. Through Curanderos Choice and Spiritual Botany, he shares authentic, fair-trade Amazonian medicines, teaching that true healing is a relationship between breath, Earth, and spirit.

 

Together, Shane and Mark honour that lineage through mindful work with Amazonian botanicals, approaching each plant as a teacher and ally. Their experiences both physical and emotional have deepened their appreciation of how the natural world can support reflection, grounding and connection.

 

Learning from the Amazon

 

Both founders have spent time learning about the traditional uses of Amazonian plants within spiritual and ceremonial contexts. Their approach is rooted in respect, ethical sourcing, and environmental care never exploitation.

 

For Shane and Mark, these botanicals are not commodities but companions: reminders of balance, gratitude, and the interconnectedness of all life.
