Not every plant arrives with a name. Sometimes the forest still holds onto its secrets.

This Peperomia sp. is an unidentified species that caught my eye for its beautiful form and character. Rather than guessing its identity, I’ve chosen to let the plant speak for itself until its true name is known.

Like many Peperomia, it enjoys bright indirect light, good airflow and a well-draining growing medium. Its compact habit makes it an excellent choice for terrariums, plant cabinets or anyone who appreciates the quiet beauty of tropical understory plants.

I also have a feeling this one may eventually be identifiable. If you ever get flowers on it, send me a photo—the tiny flowers are often what make Peperomia species much easier to identify.
