Lepanthes teretipetala

Native to the mist shrouded forests of the Sierra de Bahoruco in the Dominican Republic, Lepanthes teretipetala is a remarkable miniature orchid found growing as an epiphyte amongst moss covered branches in humid tropical mountain forests.

This enchanting species produces delicate flowers in shades of golden amber and rose pink, with elegantly twisting petals that give each bloom the appearance of a tiny dancing forest spirit. Flowers are produced successively from slender inflorescences, providing an ever changing display amongst the compact foliage.

Its miniature size and fascinating floral structure make it a perfect choice for terrariums, orchidariums, and cloud forest cabinets where its intricate beauty can be appreciated up close.

Watering: Keep consistently moist but never waterlogged. Do not allow the mount or moss to dry completely.

Fertiliser: Feed lightly with a balanced orchid fertiliser at one quarter strength throughout the growing season.
